Most Followed SA TikToker Magician Wian van den Berg Launches NFTs


Self-taught magician Wian van den Berg took the TikTok video-sharing platform by storm with his magic tricks and he has now launched his first set of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) on Binance on June 24.


With 13.7 million subscribers on TikTok, the magician launched his first set of non-fungible (NFT) tokens on the Binance NFT platform in June.

NFTs are a unit of data stored on a digital ledger. The data can be any digital file such as an image, video, audio clip, or pdf which can be purchased anywhere in the world where Binance is accessible.

Magician‘s Launch of an NFT is one of Binance’s “100 Creators” NFT; a campaign on Binance Marketplace to support and promote innovative creators around the world.

His soon to be announced NFT collection will be the first to be launched by one of Africa’s biggest social media influencers and he is set to be the first wizard in the southern hemisphere to sell his own original ‘how-to’. magic tricks as NFT, according to News 24.

“The first collection of my NFTs involves my likeness on various playing cards. I thought I would put a modern twist on playing cards, but just with my face on it! When my first collection came out in June 2021, it was exciting! I will be releasing a second collection of magic tricks in July 2021, ”Wian told News 24.

“The second collection is what excites me the most because I will be selling my own ride with a ‘how-to’ video tutorial,” he added.

Wian initially wanted to be a WWE wrestler. However, he soon realized he wasn’t the “biggest guy” according to News 24.


According to Insiflow, Wian van den Berg is South Africa’s most followed TikToker with 13.7 million followers and 249.2 million likes. While John-Marc Van Wyk is the second most followed TikToker in Mzansi with 7.9 million followers and 220.6 million likes and Karl Kugelmann in third place with six million followers and 80.7 million likes.

Born in Frankfort, Free State, the magician first became a social media sensation when he bought a ticket to Durban and filmed himself shocking passers-by on the beaches of Umhlanga and Durban.

“For years, I’ve seen people do magic on TV, on YouTube and I really believed I could do better. At first it started as a hobby, but when people started doing it. started actively wanting to see me do tricks, I started to enjoy playing for them, ”Wian van den Berg said according to News 24.

“To my surprise, I went viral on Facebook in a matter of weeks! As a deep passion for me, I loved doing magic all day long, so I decided to make it my life! “, he added.
