Musical magic as the stars tread the stages of the Royal Theater

Disney’s Bedknobs and Broomsticks, which is making its world premiere as an exciting new musical on a major UK and Ireland tour, will be heading to the Theater Royal Nottingham from October 6-10.

Dianne Pilkington will play Miss Eglantine Price, the mysterious lady with whom Rawlins’ three orphaned children were evacuated from wartime London to live.

Dianne’s West End credits include Les Misérables, Wicked, Mamma Mia and Young Frankenstein by Mel Brooks.

Charles Brunton will play Emelius Browne. Charles played the iconic role of Miss Trunchbull in Matilda both in the West End and on Broadway.

Featuring original songs from the legendary Sherman Brothers (Mary Poppins, The Jungle Book, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) including Portobello Road, The Age Of Not Believing, The Beautiful Briny and new music and lyrics from Neil Bartram and Brian’s book Hill, Bedknobs and Broomsticks will be hosted by award-winning directors Candice Edmunds and Jamie Harrison.

Brenda Edwards, musical theater star and TV presenter, will play Motormouth Maybelle on Hairspray’s UK and Ireland tour.

It can be seen at the Theater Royal from October 11-16.

Comedy legend and Nottinghamshire star Norman Pace (ITV’s The Hale and Pace Show) will play Wilbur Turnblad alongside West End lead man Alex Bourne as Edna Turnblad when the show visits the area .

It’s Baltimore 1962, where Tracy Turnblad, a tall girl with big hair and an even bigger heart, is on a mission to follow her dreams and dance her way on national television.

Tracy’s hearing made her a local star and soon she used her newfound fame to fight for equality, taking local idol Link Larkin along the way.

Finally, everyone’s favorite Joanne Clifton will play Morticia Addams on The Addams Family – A Musical Comedy UK and Ireland tour, at the Nottingham Theater Royal from November 5-11.
